Altec Lansing iMT800 Boom Box Details & Features
Altec Lansing’s inMotion MIX iPod/iPhone boombox puts the retro look on iPod speakers. It comes with a digital FM tuner with four station presets, two auxiliary inputs on top of the unit for easy access and 7-band graphic equalizer with four EQ presets and separate bass and treble control. The sound is excellent for a system this size. The inMotion MIX has horn-loaded silk dome tweeters, two bass-enhanced side-firing subwoofers and custom designed drivers for the mid-range. These speakers are just loud. They’re also interference free from any incoming calls or messages on your iPhone. You can either plug it into an AC outlet or use 8 D batteries for 30 hours of play, which makes it portable. It would have been nice if it also included a rechargeable battery. The remote control can navigate through songs and playlists. There’s a slot for storing the remote which could also be clipped onto a belt.
The inMotion is the modern day boombox albeit a little pricey. There are handles on the front of the speakers so you can pick it up and lug it around. It has a nice sound quality regardless of the type of music played and is designed perfectly for indoor and outdoor use.
