Similar to the highly recommended iHome iH9, the improved version iP99BR is even better. With a simple rounded rectangular body housing, metal grille wrapping the speakers in the front and larger and clearer buttons on the top of the unit. It also has a large and easy to read white on black display screen with dimmer. The display will show either the time and date or AM/FM tuners and alarm settings. The AC adapter is also notably smaller than the iH9.

iHome iP99 Description

While the iH9 features a 3D option that allows impressive faux spatialization that will add more apparent stereo separation into songs along with treble bumps and widening the unit's sound stage, the iP99BR features an SRS WOW audio boost feature, similar to 3D, that is designed to create artificial 3D spatialization and improve bass performance. High-fidelity stereo drivers in specially designed Reson8 speaker chambers deliver excellent sound quality.

The dual alarm clock has option to gradual wake and sleep to iPhone / iPod's playlist, AM/FM Radio or buzzer. Snooze option is also programmable. Finally the iP99BR also offers six presets for AM and six for FM radio bands)

Overview

The iHome iP99 iPhone-iPod Radio Alarm Clock has all the essential features of an alarm clock with the benefits of an iPhone-iPod dock.

Review

iPhone-iPod radio alarm clocks come in very handy. You can use the iP99, for instance, as a radio, clock, iPhone-iPod dock, and music player. This system in particular is great as a bedside companion.

Design:
The iP99 looks great. It has rounded edges of it’s face which very sleek looking. Then on the front is the digital clock that is tinted blue for a cool look. The buttons are simple to use and are easy to find right on top of the system next to your iPhone-iPod

Sound:
The iP99 doesn’t lack in sound for it’s size and keeps up with the rest. High quality speakers and well balanced sound help to make this system an easy choice.

Value:
For the money, the iP99 is worth getting. Mostly because of it’s full list of alarm features and high quality sound. It’s also convenient with the clock on the front.

Summary:
If you already need a radio, clock and iPhone dock the iP99 is a great way to solve three problems with one machine.

Sounds good, but buggy

Pros:

Good sound.
Nicely designed interface.

Cons:

Poor warranty (3 months).
Buggy.

Review

I wanted to like this unit. But within a couple months it started misbehaving in two ways:

* Frequently causes the iPhone to give the "This accessory is not made to work with the iPhone" message.
* More times than not, the "wake to a playlist" function doesn't work at all.

It's now well out of warranty, and I'm tired of it. Now shopping for a more reliable unit.
